With the United States and the European Union still having a hard time dealing with the fallout from the economic crisis, China has become the first major economy to slam on the brakes. The Chinese central bank has ordered commercial banks to adjust their reserve ratios upward to 17 percent, leaving them unable to lend out some of their money. The central bank has also increased the interest on inter-bank loans and short term treasury bonds.
The China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) said in its annual report” The macroeconomic environment of 2010 is better than 2009,but there are still some factors of instability in banking risk management, such as the non-performing Loan, real estate credit , transmitted risk, liquidity risk ... must be paid attention to” .
3rd Annual China Banking Risk International Summit 2010 will give you a clear picture of challenges the global banking industry is facing and a special focus on China’s banking unique problems. During the 2-day event, governmental officials and regulators will update the latest policy and progress of risk management in China. Practitioners from domestic top banks will introduce their Basel II implementation process and point out some key questions that should be paid attention to. Meanwhile, advanced banking risk management practice could be acquired from international leading banks. On top of that, the conference will also focus on some key issues like real estate credit stress testing, government local financing platform, etc.
